Champagne |
The difference between Champagne and Sparkling Wine is actually geography. Champagne is produced in the Champagne region in France, and Sparkling wine is produced in all other parts of the world. | 10 glasses per bottle for a toast or 6 standard glasses (125ml) per bottle for drinking or 1 x 750ml bottle for every 2 people. |
Bottled |
For a standard party, more people tend to prefer white than red, especially in summer, so choose 2 whites for every red. For a sit down dinner party, the split is generally 50/50, but can vary depending on the food served and the season. | 5 standard wine glasses (150ml) per bottle or 1 x 750ml bottle for every 2 people |
Cask |
Quality cask wine can be a practical alternative to bottled wine, particularly when you are entertaining a large number of guests on a tight budget. | 20 standard wine glasses (150ml) per 3 litre cask or 1 x 3 litre cask for every 8 people |
Spirits |
A combination of light and dark spirits should cater for most spirit drinkers. If mixing cocktails, be sure to consult your favourite cocktail book first for the right ingredients. | 4 x standard drinks (30ml) per person or 33 standard drinks per litre bottle. |
Premix |
Traditional flavours will usually be the most popular, but try mixing a few more unusual varieties to your selection to add interest for your guests. | 5 x 330ml cans/bottles per person. |
Soft |
Don't forget to get a good selection of flavoured soft drinks and waters to suit all tastes, including orange juice, carbonated and still beverages. Include diet varieties with your mixers. | MIXERS: 1.5 mixers per 300ml bottle or 6 mixers per 1.5 litre bottle. NON DRINKERS: 3 x 330ml cans/bottles per person or 1 x 1.5 litre bottle for every 2 people |
